s`Fest im Dorf: a new approach to a sustainable concept

This year, the organising team of the village festival in Ladis took the groundbreaking decision to organise the event according to the criteria of Green Event Basic Tyrol. This makes it the first event in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis to be certified as such. This decision is an important step towards sustainability and environmental protection. A number of actions have been taken to ensure that the festival is not only a celebration, but also a sign of love and responsibility for our environment and our future.

Green events are events that prioritise sustainability in order to conserve resources while supporting the local economy. The project was initiated in 2014 by Klimabündnis Tirol and Umwelt Verein Tirol and is funded by the province of Tyrol.

Some of the steps taken as part of the Green Event Basic certification include

Use of universal reusable cups, bottles and cutlery with a deposit system
Best possible waste minimisation and avoidance of single-use plastics, waste separation stations for other waste
Careful selection and review of required energy sources and careful and efficient use of water and electricity resources
Use of regional and seasonal food - as close as possible and as far away as necessary - use of Fairtrade and organic quality products not available locally

- Bread - Bäckerei Althaler, homemade by local stand holders

Accessibility of the event area and toilets
The venue is within walking distance for locals and guests staying in Ladis; for safety and traffic calming reasons, the road will be closed and turned into a pedestrian zone on festival evenings.
Bicycle stands will be provided
Public transport to Ladis will be encouraged (including extra buses)
