Schöngampalm – Brunnenjoch via Urgtal valley trail - Fisser Joch
Starting point: Schöngampalm
Character: The Urgtal valley trail passes through magnificent, unspoilt high alpine nature throughout its entire length – from the Schöngampalm (1,870 m) to the Brunnenjoch (2,575 m). Halfway up you cross the Spinnsee lakes trail, which, in combination with the Urgtal valley trail, provides for beautiful roundabout hikes into the furthest Urgtal valley.
Walking time: ascent 3 hours, descent: 2 ½ hours
Description: From the Schöngampalm (F039) follow the Fisser Almweg trail for about 300 meters, as far as the crossing (F038) to the left into the Urgtal valley. Take the flat trail, to begin with through the pine forest to the small Urgsee lake with its mountain trouts and then on through the valley to the Lader Urgalpe. From here, the trail turns to a mountain path, runs along the valley (F107) beside the bubbling mountain brook with its many branches, ascends continually over the rough alpine pastures to the end of the Urgtal valley (F105) and reaches through boulders the ridge on the Brunnenjoch. At the crossing with the Spinnseensteig path (F104), both trails run parallel for a short while. From the Brunnenjoch (S256) use the ridge trail no. 23 to the Vorderer Brunnenkopf (S255), the Sattelkopf (F110) and the Fisser Joch (F087).
