The " Recherlerhaus"
The so-called "Rechelerhaus" is probably the oldest painted house in the Oberes Gericht. The gable is decorated with a simple flying spar made of dragon heads and twisted wood. The collar beam bears the inscription "MELCHER WILLE 1634 CHRISTIAN SEN". The heavy mock architecture is characterised by scrollwork window frames, fluted corner pilasters and a frieze running along the base of the roof. The pictorial decoration shows the panelled fresco on the one hand and the free-standing fresco on the wall on the other, whose figures are only provided with a narrow bottom strip. The original oven on the west façade rests on wooden struts and has a monopitch roof.
